Walker, Texas Ranger (Extrait)
Walker, Texas Ranger est une série télévisée américaine en 203 épisodes de 45 minutes, créée par Christopher Canaan, Leslie Greif, Paul Haggis et Albert S. Ruddy et diffusée entre le 21 avril 1993 et le 19 mai 2001 sur le réseau CBS. En France, la série est diffusée à partir de 1995 sur TF1. Produite par Chuck Norris et son frère Aaron Norris, cette série met en scène une équipe de Texas Rangers, à Dallas au Texas. Le personnage principal est Cordell Walker interprété par Chuck Norris. Le ranger Walker croit aux bonnes valeurs américaines et les défend le plus souvent avec ses poings. Véritable cowboy des temps modernes, avec son Stetson et ses Santiags, il est assisté par Jimmy Trivette (interprété par Clarence Gilyard), ancien footballeur américain de Baltimore, ayant rejoint les Texas Rangers après s'être brisé les épaules. Ensembles, Walker et Trivette finissent habituellement leur journée chez C.D Parker, ancien Ranger (interprété par Noble Willingham). La série se finira par le mariage de Walker avec Alex Cahill, substitut du procureur et l'accouchement de celle-ci. La chanson du générique The Eyes of The Ranger a été écrite par Tirk Wilder et est interprétée par Chuck Norris (Cordell Walker). On peut y voir une référence au chant traditionnel texan The Eyes of Texas (Are Upon You). T-Bone Walker// Call It Stormy Monday
né Aaron Thibeaux WALKER le 28 mai 1910 à Linden, Texas. Décédé le 16 mars 1975 à Los Angeles, Californie. Considéré comme l'un des plus grands guitaristes de la musique noire-américaine, T-Bone WALKER a réconcilié le blues et le jazz en étant tout simplement le créateur du Blues Californien. Compositeur surdoué, il aura en effet, en mariant le blues texan au swing des Big Bands de jazz, inventé ce style. Mais le nom de T-Bone WALKER reste avant tout attaché à l'histoire de la guitare. Il a été l'un des premiers bluesmen à recourir à l'amplification, en 1935, et aura ainsi influencé les plus grands, de B.B. KING à Jimi Hendrix. Son style aérien et swinguant, servait un Blues doux et sophistiqué; le Blues comme il devait-être pour T-Bone WALKER. Son plus grand chefs-d'oeuvre, reste certainement "Call It Stormy Monday", que T-Bone WALKER enregistra en 1940. Et sa participation en 1962, à la première tournée de l'American Folk Blues Festival, avec John Lee Hooker, Memphis Slim, Sonny Terry, Brownie Mc Ghee, Willie Dixon, Shakey Jake, Magic Sam, ainsi que la chanteuse Helen Humes; sa plus belle victoire pour faire reconnaître le Blues comme fondamental.

Walker Brothers - The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore (1966)
The Walker Brothers était un groupe américain des années 1960 et 1970 de pop. Ils ont eu un grand nombre de succès au milieu des années 1960 dont plusieurs numéro 1 dans les charts « Make It Easy on Yourself » et « The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore) ». Formés en 1964 ils ont adopté le nom Walker Brothers bien qu'ils ne soient pas frères - « simplement par ce que nous l'aimions comme ça ». Ils ont donné un contrepoids à la British invasion dans le sens qu'ils ont eu du succès des deux côtés de l'Atlantique.
