Chine : Les obstacles à la lutte anti-tabac
Rendons-nous maintenant en Chine où un groupe d'experts vient de publier un rapport alarmant sur les méfaits mortels du tabac. Ce rapport chiffre le nombre de décès annuels liés au tabac à près 1,2 million de personnes en Chine. Les auteurs de ce rapport font appel à de nouvelles lois anti-tabac, mais admettent que les énormes revenus générés par les sociétés du tabac, au profit de l'état chinois, forment un obstacle conséquent. Le rapport « Contrôle du tabac et avenir de la Chine » rédigé par plus de 60 experts de Chine et de l'étranger révèle que l'an dernier, les coûts médicaux et sociaux du tabagisme s'élevaient à 60 milliards de yuans, près de 7 milliards d'euros, annulant la taxe sur les revenus qu'ils génèrent. L'administration de l'industrie du tabac, monopole d'état, fait obstacle aux mesures anti-tabac, car elle fixe les règles tout en gérant le premier fabricant mondial de cigarettes, la China National Tobacco . L'étude appelle à des mesures ambitieuses pour réduire le tabagisme. Yang Gonghuan, l'auteur principale du rapport « Contrôle du tabac et avenir de la Chine » reste sceptique.

Japan Fukushima: Newly Released TEPCO Data Proves Fairewinds Assertions of Significant Fuel Pool Failures at Fukushima Daiichi - August 26, 2011 New TEPCO data measured on August 19 & 20 shows severe damage to the spent fuel in Fukushima Daiichi Units 1, 2, and 3. The adjacent TEPCO table posted on the front page shows incredibly high levels of Cesium 137 and Cesium 134 in all three spent fuel pools of Units 1, 2, & 3. This TEPCO data clearly contradicts and refutes the July assertion by the NRC the Fukushima Daiichi spent fuel pools were not damaged in this tragic accident. Crytome (cry to me) has a new high resolution photo, also uploaded, that shows the extensive damage of the Unit 3 spent fuel pool and the reactor building. On Monday authorities found tainted rice from three farms with cesium levels at nearly 1050 becquerels per kilogram which is more than double the government's safety limit of 500 becquerels. They also say about 9 kilograms of the tainted rice was sold to the public in Idate. Meanwhile, over in Onami district the site of the first radiation-detected rice four more farms were found to be contaminated. Stupid TEPCO lying and shifting blame (again still). First, the Earthquake "damaged' the plant, then blamed the Tsunami, because of the liability of being not secure enough for the Earthquake. Then, someone turned off the cooling system. Then, That didn't happen either. Then, they will no longer build new nuclear power plants in Japan, But NOW, they are going to export nuclear power, but well at least they can share their "experience" of the nuclear accident. WTF Japan? Your credibility is NULL! Your Honor is LOST, RUINED, CALLING FOR A BOW WHERE YOU LAY ON THE FLOOR AND NEVER GET UP. TEPCO issues interim report on Fukushima accident The Tokyo Electric Power Company has released an interim report on its in-house probe into the nuclear disaster at the firm's Fukushima Daiichi power plant. But the report issued on Friday fails to clarify how or why a huge amount of radioactive materials leaked outside the facility. Based on data and interviews of more than 250 workers since June, the report describes how the giant tsunami on March 11th knocked out almost all of the plant's power sources and all of its fail-safe mechanisms. The report also details how meltdowns occurred at some of the plant's reactors after the accident. The report says the firm had worked with the government and obtained its endorsement in taking measures to guard the plant from severe accidents before March 11th. The report also defends as reasonable the utility's effort to contain the damage from the accident. The report says that the plant lost all of its safety mechanisms because the tsunami was much larger than expected, that workers could not keep up with developments, and that core meltdowns occurred. The report calls for thorough steps to protect the cooling and power systems of power plants from tsunamis and for installation of an emergency power source in a safe place. The report calls on the utility to ensure that it has ways to cool reactors in case of further accidents. The report does not contain an in-depth examination of the utility's failure to immediately submit to the government the firm's 2008 estimate that a tsunami higher than 10 meters could hit the plant. The utility has said it did not submit the estimate immediately because it was based on a groundless hypothesis. The firm eventually submitted the estimate only 4 days before the March 11th disaster. Much remains unknown about how workers tried to cool the plant's Number 1 reactor -- where a meltdown occurred -- or why the Number 2 reactor ended up releasing a large amount of radioactive materials. TAEBAEK
"Taebaek", qui signifie "montagne lumineuse" est le nom d’une montagne d’où régnait Tangun, fondateur de la Corée. La "montagne lumineuse" symbolise le caractère sacré de l’âme et le "hongik-ingan" (l’humanisme) selon Tangun. De nombreux sites géographiques sont appelés "Taebaek" mais le Mont Paektu, traditionnellement reconnu comme le berceau du peuple Coréen, inspire le poumsé "Taebaek". Le diagramme reproduit le caractère chinois qui représente le lien entre le ciel et la terre, c’est-à-dire la fondation d’une nation des hommes sur la terre selon l’ordre divin.
