Pow Wow - Le Lion est Mort ce Soir
C’est en 1990 que les quatre membres de Pow Wow réunissent leur talent pour former le groupe. Alors que Pascal et Alain faisaient parti des Alligators, Ahmed et Bertrand les rejoindront peu de temps plus tard. Le hasard fait donc bien les choses, puisque c’est à force de se croiser dans les concerts et soirées qu’ils décident de produire quelque chose. A chaque fin de concert, ils se réunissent et chantent leurs morceaux favoris a capella…bien obligé, les instruments sont rangés directement après les concerts. Lassé de se regrouper qu’à l’occasion de bœuf, les quatre chanteurs prennent les choses en main et répètent quelques chansons dans un petit studio. Deux mois plus tard, « Le Palace » les accueille. Ils y chantent, entre deux autres groupes, six chansons dont « Run On » et « Louie Louie ». Très apprécié par le public, ils décident d’écrire leur propres compositions. Pow Wow se réalise enfin. Une mini-tournée est programmée, et les amènent à L’Elysée Montmartre. Les salles sont combles et le tube que deviendra « Le Lion Est Mort Ce Soir » est d’ores et déjà apprécié. Un tel succès amène le groupe à avoir une inspiration débordante. Des titres comme « Le Chat » (à l’origine appelé « LeRat »), « Jesus », « La Nuit » et « Come Back » voient le jour. Apprécié, le groupe n’a pourtant pas encore trouvé un nom. Plusieurs propositions arrivent, Doo Wap, Guismo, mais c’est finalement, et heureusement pour eux Pow woW qui est retenu. Pour information Pow Wow est le nom donné au réunion des tribus indiennes, une cérémonie spirituelle toujours pratiquées aux Etats-Unis. En 1992, le groupe passe en studio et enregistre « Regagner les Plaines ». Cet opus, à l’origine destiné pour être vendu à la fin des concerts, se verra attribuer d’une place dans les commerces. Les radios les invitent et la chanson « Le Chat » est diffusé dans toute la France. Elle rentrera même à la 43ème place du Top 50. ceci n’est qu’un début, puisque le groupe restera à la première place du Top 50 durant sept semaines. Les prix s’amoncèlent et les quatre artistes voient leur rêve se réaliser. Un an plus tard, « Comme un Guetteur », le deuxième album de Pow Wow voit le jour. On y trouve neuf compositions et quatre reprises. Le groupe prend un léger tournant en intégrant quelques instruments dans ses compositions. On retrouve donc de la guitare sur « Le Poisson Dans La Vitrine » et « Dreaming », et du piano sur « Comme Un Guetteur ». Malgré un succès grandissant la bande annonce sa séparation. Leur excuse ? Prendre du recul sur une notoriété et un succès arrivés trop rapidement. En 1995, les quatre artistes effectuent un nouveau départ marqué par un tournant décisif dans leur carrière. Fini le temps de l’a capella, et bonjour les instruments. On trouve donc de la guitare, de la basse, des claviers, et de la batterie en fond sonore. Les voix se complètent parfaitement avec l’instrumental. Le succès est bien sur au rendez-vous, et les 13 nouvelles compositions font fureur. Une compilation sort, des concerts sont organisés. Mais une nouvelle fois, le groupe décide de cesser ses activités. Chacun mène sa carrière de côté jusqu’en 2006, année de leur retour. Cette œuvre d’art s’intitule " The Portrait of Power ". Et le moins que l'on puisse dire, c’est qu’elle en impose. Dans ce clip, réalisé par Marco Brambilla, Kayne West apparait comme un Dieu sur l’Olympe. La caméra, en plan rapproché ouvre le clip sur le buste de Kayne West drapé comme une statue grecque puis peu à peu, la caméra dé-zoom, et on découvre émerveillé que Kayne n’est pas seul, il règne sur le royaume des Dieux entouré de muses, démons ou anges tous plus merveilleux les uns que les autres, qui nous rappellent sans mal les peintures de Michel Ange. To make this a reality the company says it needs to secure an additional $300 million investment. With funding in place, the first step on the path to commercially available Thorium Energy will be through their 10MW miniFUJI. That will be followed by a larger capacity design called FUJI, delivering 200MW. A drawin of a FUJI Thorium Energy power plant. According to company claims, these will both generate power at a cost significantly lower than that of current Light Water Reactors (LWR) – at least 30% lower – without the considerable safety, proliferation and waste drawbacks of conventional nuclear energy. IThEMS is built around the FUJI concept for which they have a Japanese Patent (No. 3326759) and a Russian Federation Patent (No. 2137222). Keishiro Fukushima (ThEC2010 contributor) is aformer Senator and Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Japan. He is the founder and CEO of IThEMS and Guest Professor of Waseda University. Nuclear Alert! USA: Airspace Over Flooded Nebraska Nuclear Power Plant Still Closed - June 15, 2011 A fire in Nebraska's Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant briefly knocked out the cooling process for spent nuclear fuel rods, ProPublica reports. The fire occurred on June 7th. On June 6th, the Federal Administration Aviation (FAA) issued a directive banning aircraft from entering the airspace within a two-mile radius of the plant. "No pilots may operate an aircraft in the areas covered by this NOTAM," referring to the "notice to airmen," effective immediately. The plant is reportedly at a stage 4 level of emergency, though the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), which owns and operates the plant, denies this. "This terminology is not accurate, and is not how emergencies at nuclear power plants are classified," the OPPD says on a website created to counter rumors about the security of the Fort Calhoun plant. The OPPD claims the FAA closed airspace over the plant because of the Missouri River flooding. But the FAA ban specifically lists the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant as the location for the flight ban. The plant is adjacent to the now-flooding river, about 20 minutes outside downtown Omaha, and has been closed since April for refueling. WOWT, the local NBC affiliate, reports on its website: "The Ft. Calhoun Nuclear Facility is an island right now but it is one that authorities say is going to stay dry. They say they have a number of redundant features to protect the facility from flood waters that include the aqua dam, earthen berms and sandbags." OPPD spokesman Jeff Hanson told Business Insider that the nuclear plant is in a "stable situation." He said the Missouri River is currently at 1005.6" above sea level, and that no radioactive fuel had yet been released or was expected to be released in the future. Asked about the FAA flight ban, Hanson it was due to high power lines and "security reasons that we can't reveal." He said the flight ban remains in effect. En juillet 2001, Arai et Washi Atama rejoignent les deux autres membres et c'est alors que se forme fifth power of k. Après la sortie du deuxième album, Arai se retire du groupe en décembre 2005 et c'est en juillet 2006 que Mutchi décide de retirer Washi Atama. Pow woW dans Le Lion est Mort ce Soir (1992) Pow woW est un groupe français, interprétant principalement des quatuors a cappella s'inspirant du doo-wop et qui a connu un franc succès dans les années 1990. Pow woW, composé à l'époque de Alain Chennevière, Ahmed Mouici, Pascal Periz et de Bertrand Pierre, commence les répétitions en octobre 1990 dans plusieurs clubs de Paris (dont Le Palace) Avec un percussionniste uniquement, ils interprètent des chansons a cappella à quatre voix. En 1997 le groupe se sépare. Chaque membre poursuit une carrière solo tout en continuant de se voir. En 2000, Ahmed Mouici a participé à la comédie musicale "Les Dix commandements" de Pascal Obispo. The Lion Sleeps Tonight est une chanson populaire africaine, composée par Solomon Linda en 1939. Elle a été reprise de nombreuses fois, et est devenue un succès mondial. Sa version française a été popularisée sous le titre Le lion est mort ce soir, par le chanteur Henri Salvador. Au total, on dénombre près de 160 interprétations différentes de ce succès mondial.
