Ce succès acquis en quelques années seulement, Tapuarii Laughlin le doit à son amour pour la chanson mais aussi à son dynamisme. Né le 27 juillet 1971 à Papeete, Tapuarii Laughlin a grandi à la presqu’île de Tahiti, dans un environnement familial qui le prédisposait, lui et ses 4 frères et sœurs, à la musique. Sa mère adorait jouer de la guitare et elle apprit à ses enfants à jouer quelques accords, en ne supposant pas alors ce que ce geste allait marquer la destinée du jeune Tapu. Ce dernier écoutait avec grande attention les récits de son oncle, John Gabilou, qui multipliait déjà les spectacles sur Tahiti et les îles et qui, à son retour de tournée, passait rendre visite à ses neveux. Très vite, Tapu et ses frères et sœurs sont sollicités pour animer les soirées de la paroisse… puis les soirées des écoles ! A 14 ans, Tapuarii est admis en classe de 3è à Papeete et il quitte alors la presqu’île. Dès qu’il passe le portail de l’établissement, il rejoint le groupe de musiciens du collège. Cette année-là, ils animent la grande soirée de l’école et le succès est au rendez-vous. Puis viennent les boîtes de nuit de l’époque, le New Orleans, le Galaxy, le Salvani’s. Toutes les réclament pour animer leurs soirées. Ils décident alors de s’appeler les Cool Morning. Leur premier album - qui porte le nom du groupe - sort en 1991. Tapuarii restera au sein de Cool Morning jusqu’en 1996, année où il part aux Etats-Unis pour suivre une formation musicale au Musicians Institute d’Hollywood. Revenge of the Fallen achieved the highest Wednesday opening gross in history, bringing in $62 million in North America alone and close to $100 million worldwide; this is also the second-highest opening day gross of all time, behind only The Dark Knight's $67.8 million. Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg return respectively as director and executive producer, while Shia LaBeouf reprises the role of Sam Witwicky, the human caught in the war between Autobots and Decepticons. The film introduces many more robots and the scope has been expanded to numerous countries, most notably France and Egypt. The plot revolves around Sam, who has been seeing visions of Cybertronian symbols and therefore gets hunted by evil Decepticons to awake their long-time-hidden leader, The Fallen. A major hurdle that was overcome during the film's production was the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, as well as possible strikes by the Directors Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild. Bay finished the production on time with the help of previsualization and a scriptment by his writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and series newcomer Ehren Kruger. Shooting took place from May to November 2008. Revenge of the Fallen achieved the highest Wednesday opening gross in history, bringing in $62 million in North America alone and close to $100 million worldwide; this is also the second-highest opening day gross of all time, behind only The Dark Knight's $67.8 million. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is currently the highest grossing film of 2009, beating out Angels & Demons which previously held the title.
