Membres : Hashimoto Eriko (橋本絵莉子) : Chant, Guitare Fukuoka Akiko (福岡晃子) : Basse, Choeurs (a quitté le groupe fin 2011) Takahashi Kumiko (高橋久美子) : Batterie, Choeurs chatmonchy est un groupe de pop-rock composée de trois jeunes femmes nées en 1982 et 1983 et originaires de l'île de Shikoku. La première version du groupe est montée par Eriko en 2000. Il y a alors 6 membres. Après les examens d'entrée, Eriko se retrouve toute seule. Elle est rejointe en 2002 par Akiko. Accompagnées d'un batteur, elles sortent une démo Nya Nya Korobi Yaoki auto-produite, et font des lives acoustiques toutes les deux. En 2004, Akiko rencontre Kumiko à la fac et Kumiko intègre le groupe à la batterie. chatmonchy sort son premier mini-album auto-produit chatmonchy ni Naritai le 6 juin 2004. Vendu directement par le groupe dans leur région natale, il s'écoule à 1500 exemplaires. Elles sont repérées par le label d'ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION Ki/oon Records et le 23 novembre 2005 sort sous la houlette du producteur de SUPERCAR leur premier album major chatmonchy has come. Suivent deux singles puis un autre album Miminari le 5 juillet 2006. Ce jour-là sort également le disque NANO-MUGEN COMPILATION 2006 sur lequel figure leur chanson Renai Spirits. Entre la fin de l'année 2006 et pendant toute l'année 2007, le groupe enchaine les singles dont un ending de Bleach jusqu'à sortir finalement leur troisième album Seimeiryoku le 24 octobre 2007. Après deux DVD, chatmonchy a repris en 2008 ses sorties de singles.

The race is on, this Sunday, November 13. Since I wrote the post, there has been a slow but now rapidly growing attempt from concerned citizens to stop the event. Short of stopping, at least they want emergency decontamination. Why? Because the radiation levels in the stadium and on the roads to be used in the race in Fukushima City is very, very high, as they are being measured measured right now by a citizens group HCR+OPCOM. From their tweets: Inside the stadium, air radiation: 1.49 microsievert/hr Inside the stadium, side of the track where runners are practicing: 1.71 microsievert/hr Inside the stadium, side drain: 13.44 microsieverts/hr 10 meters from the stadium gate, on Ekiden course [on the ground]: 4.67 microsieverts/hr Walkway along the course, on the ground: 11.80 microsieverts/hr ("Spectators beware!") Air radiation level on the walkway along the course: over 1 microsievert/hr 1st relay point, on the ground: 13.14 microsieverts/hr This is only for the 1st segment of the race course, and I assume they are only measuring gamma rays. Judging from the photos they post, they are measuring at the side of the road where the sediment and small debris tend to accumulate. Still, now we know that the asphalt and concrete cannot be effectively "decontaminated" at this point, maybe there is not much difference. Fukushima City is where Greenpeace found cobalt-60 in the soil in a park. Willful ignorance of the coaches of these girls, particularly those school coaches who are also teachers, is staggering. They think it is totally safe, because "if it isn't, they wouldn't have planned it". That's similar to the Mayor of Yokohama, who said the food was safe "if it was sold in the market". As related in one tweet, one of the coaches/teachers replied to the concern of a parent that there was this thing called "half life", and the radiation level in Fukushima City had already fallen to a safe level. Half life of cesium-137 is 30 years. I guess no one had told that teacher about it. When the parent told him about it and how high the radiation level in Fukushima City was, the coach got really concerned. Every participating team has girls in high school and junior high school. I believe it is a requirement. It looks more than half of the members in any given are made up of girls under the age of 18. They are not even a voting age or drinking age (age of 20). One quarter of the team members cannot marry even with the consent of their parents (age of 16). But they can be exposed to high radiation. Does that make sense? I thought intentionally endangering the minor is a crime. On Japan's busiest weekend of ekiden action, some of the best of it came at the first major event held in Fukushima since March's disasters, the East Japan Women's Ekiden, a regional version of January's National Women's Ekiden with 18 prefectural teams made up of runners ranging from junior high to pro. 2009 winner Nagano Pref.'s Yuko Shimizu took the race out hard, winning the 6.0 km First Stage by 18 seconds over Miyagi Pref.'s Hiroko Shoi as pre-race favorites Kanagawa Pref. and Chiba Pref. sat back in 7th and 14th. Kanagawa's second runner Hitomi Nakamura ran a stage best to bring her team with 13 seconds of the lead, but over the next two stages the gap grew again to 22 seconds. The remaining five stages were tense and dramatic as each of Kanagawa's runners in turn closed the gap only to have Nagano's runners outkick them in the final stretch of their stages. Seventh Stage runner Hitomi Sato managed to open a 2-second lead over Nagano's Hikari Yasuhara, but the lead returned to Nagano on the Eighth Stage. Five-time 1500 m national champion Mika Yoshikawa started the 10 km anchor stage for Kanagawa one second behind Nagano's anchor, Meijo University junior Aki Odagiri. Within the first km she took the lead and opened a small lead over Odagiri, but the university runner soon matched pace and the gap remained steady until Odagiri hit a bad patch before halfway and fell back. Surprisingly, she rallied and gutted out a surge, passing Yoshikawa near 7 km and open a lead of nearly 30 m by the time the two entered the track for the final 500 m. Her face clenched as she tried to hang on to the lead, despite still running strong Odagiri fell victim to track specialist Yoshikawa's closing speed. Yoshikawa closed the gap and took the lead with 200 m to go, flying past to open 6 seconds on Odagiri. The pair's exciting battle spurred both to break the course record, Yoshikawa bringing Kanagawa in for its first win in 7 years in 2:16:57 almost one minute faster than the old record. Odagiri also took Nagano under the record by more than 45 seconds, 2nd in 2:17:03. Chiba Pref. clawed its way up through the field after a slow start for 3rd in 2:18:55 thanks to a stage best from Fifth Stage runner Yurie Doi and a new course record of 12:44 for the 4.1075 km Sixth Stage by high schooler Sakiko Naito. Hosts Fukushima Pref. were an impressive 4th only 24 seconds behind Chiba. The Fukushima prefectural government was one of the principal sponsors of the East Japan Women's Ekiden. The TV broadcast was heavy on promotion of the area's natural sights, hot springs, and local delicacies with only passing mention of March's nuclear disaster in the east part of the prefecture. Each of the stage winners said in post-race interviews that they hoped their running would help inspire Fukushima residents. Un des groupes rock japonais le plus populaire, le nom du groupe vient du dérivé du mot "gray" (gris), représentant le genre du groupe caractérisé de 'indéfinissable' sans être obligé de se ranger du côté "noir" ou "blanc". En effet, GLAY n'a pas peur d'affronter plusieurs styles musicaux passant ainsi du gospel vers le pur rock. Depuis leur premier single "RAIN" (produit par YOSHIKI de X Japan), ils ont à ce jour pas moins de 10 albums originaux et 42 singles. Avec un record de spectateurs à leurs concerts et de sorties se classant n°1 des charts, GLAY continue aujourd'hui à avoir un fort impact sur le marché musical japonais. HISASHI les a rejoint peu de temps après, lorsque son groupe ARI se sépara. Le groupe devint populaire dans leur ville natale, ils jouèrent dans de petites places et aux festivals d'écoles. En 1990, lorsque les membres ont obtenus leurs diplômes, ils déménagèrent vers Tokyo afin de se faire remarquer par un plus large public. Cependant, les choses furent difficiles là bas. Le groupe faisait des mini concerts devant peu de spectateurs et parfois devant qu'une seule personne. Les membres ont du travailler durs en enchainant les petits boulots afin de pouvoir conserver leur groupe. Ce n'est qu'à partir de 1992 lorsque JIRO les rejoignit que les choses commencèrent à changer. JIRO est venu avec de nouvelles idées qui leur ont permit d'ouvrir des portes et d'avoir plus de succès dans le domaine indies. En 1993, YOSHIKI regarda l'une de leur performance et leur offrit une chance sous son label, EXTASY RECORDS. En 1994, leur premier single RAIN fut produit ainsi que leur premier album Hai to Diamond. Après cela, le groupe devint de plus en plus populaire. En 1996, ils atteignent pour la première fois, la première place des charts avec leur troisième album BEAT out! , et, la même année, leur quatrième album BELOVED fut le premier à se vendre à plus d'un million d'exemplaires. En Septembre 1996, GLAY joua leur concert final du "BEATout! Reprise Tour at Budokan", leur premier concert à cet endroit, qui était pour eux un rêve qui devenait réalité. En Août 1997, leur 12ème single HOWEVER atteignit le top des charts pendant deux semaines consécutives et, après que le single "Eien" du groupe ZARD vienne s'emparer de la première place, GLAY reprit la première place la semaine suivante et ce pendant trois autres semaines. Tout comme l'album REVIEW-BEST OF GLAY qui est resté cinq semaines d'affilé à la première place des charts Oricon et devint la meilleure vente d'album de tous le temps au Japon, toutes périodes confondues avec pas moins de 5 millions de copies vendus. (Aujourd'hui l'album a été détrôné et est 3ème des meilleurs ventes de tous les temps. ) Pendant la période 1997-2000, GLAY a vendu pas moins de six millions de singles, devenant ainsi les troisième artiste avec le plus de ventes de singles de tout les temps. Leur 13ème single Yuuwaku fut également le meilleur single de l'année en terme de vente en 1998. Leurs albums pure soul (1998) et HEAVY GAUGE (1999) furent également d'énormes succès ainsi que la compilation DRIVE-GLAY complete BEST (2000). Chacun de ses albums s'est vendu à plus de deux millions d'exemplaires. 1999 fut l'année où GLAY joua pour la première au Dome Tour, "GLAY DOME TOUR "pure soul" 1999", ils furent d'ailleurs les premiers à faire cinq date de concerts dans cette grande salle. La tournée eut un total de 15 performances attirant pas moins de 750 000 personnes. Leur 16ème single Winter, again atteignit la deuxième place des charts de l'année et gagna le grand prix aux "41st Japan Record Awards". GLAY décrocha alors deux records en 1999, leur vidéo single "SURIVAL" se vendit à 900 copies (meilleur vente de tous les temps pour ce type de support), ainsi que le concert "GLAY EXPO '99 ~ SUVIVAL" qui attira pas moins de 200 000 personnes, un record pour un groupe seul au Japon. A la fin de l'année, GLAY joua au concert The Millennium Eve - A Christmas Present, pour les personnes qui aiment vivre beaucoup, aux côtés de LUNA SEA le 23 Décembre, puis au "GLAY Countdown Live in Messe "Come Together"", le 31 Décembre. En 2004 GLAY célébra leur 10ème anniversaire en tant que groupe major à l'EXPO 2004, où était présent pas moins de 100 000 spectateurs. Il s'agissait là de l'une de leurs années où ils eurent le plus de travail avec la publication de l'album THE FRUSTRATED et pas moins de quatre singles, auquel s'ajoutait leurs nombreux passages TV. Cette célébration se termina seulement en 2005 avec le "GLAY DOME TOUR 2005 "WHITE ROAD" in TOKYO DOME" accompagné de la compilation "-Ballad Best Singles- WHITE ROAD". Alors que GLAY venait juste de finir ce célébrer leur 10 ans de succès, ils font face à de sérieux problèmes avec leur label en 2005. Aucuns détails n'ont été dévoilés, mais il fut reportés qu'ils n'avaient plus les droits sur leurs musiques et que le contrat allaient se terminer avec leurs maisons de disque Unlimited Records. Le groupe n'a donc pas pu sortir de nouveaux matériels cette année. La seule publication fut le single SCREAM en collaboration avec le groupe EXILE, qui fut publié sous le label d'EXILE. Le groupe poursuivit la compagnie en justice en 2007, et ce n'est que le 22 Octobre 2009, que la justice trancha et donna raison au groupe. Unlimited Records pour s'être attribué pas moins de 147 musiques du groupe a du payer plus de 670 millions de yens pour droits d'auteurs et frais impayés. Début 2006, toujours sans label, ils produisirent leur tournée "ROCK'N'ROLL SWINDLE 2006". Puis, ils signèrent avec Capitol Records et publièrenet leurs trois singles suivants, G4, Natuoto / Hen na Yume ~THOUSAND DREAMS~ et ANSWER. Le dernier fut une collaboration avec le chanteur Himuro Kyosuke. Ils furent également un concert "KYOSUKE HIMURO + GLAY SWING ADDICTION 2006" et une tournée "GLAY TOUR 2006 ROCK'N'ROLL SWINDLE~Re-birth~", à la fin de l'année. En Janvier 2007, le groupe sortit son single 100 Man Kai no KISS et une semaine plus tard leur neuvième album original LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL qui atteignit la première position des charts malgré des ventes décevantes comparé à leurs précédents travaux. Le 4 Avril, ils publièrent leur single Kodou, qui fut le thème du film Taitei no Ken. En Août 2008, GLAY donna pour la première un concert aux États-Unis. Le "GLAY VERB tour 2008 in U. S. " eut lieu à The Fillmore, à San Francisco, le 12 Août et à The Houde of Blues, à Los Angeles le 15 et 16 Août 2008. En 2009, GLAY célebra leur 15 ans depuis la sortie de leur premier single "RAIN". Cette anniversaire se fit dans un premier temps avec la publication d'un single de 6 musiques SAY YOUR DREAM le 4 Mars 2009. Le titre éponyme dure pas moins de 13 minutes. Takuro a composé cette musique comme le message qu'il voulait livré s'il était sur le point de mourir, une chanson qui lui a prit pas moins de sept années pour compléter. Le PV fut divisé en deux parties, la première diffusé à la TV cinq jours avant la sortie du single. La seconde partie était accessible seulement sur internet avec un mot de passe obtenu dans la version limitée du single. Sur le même site il y avait également un PV pour une autre chanson du single "Haru Made wa". Le 25 Mai 2009, le jour où cela faisait 15 ans jour pour jour depuis leur début, le groupe publia le single I am xxx. Une musique qui fut utilisé pour le film Blood: The Last Vampire pour toutes les versions asiatiques, une musique choisie par Bill Kong en personne. Le 10 Juin 2009, GLAY publia la première partie de leurs hits à travers la compilation THE GREAT VACATION VOL. 1 ~SUPER BEST OF GLAY~ un triple CD qui contenait une majorité de leurs musiques datant d'après 2000 et une nouvelle version ré-enregistré de "Yuuwaku". Le troisième CD est composé quasiment que de musiques inédites. En Septembre, GLAY retourna aux États-Unis et fit une nouvelle tournée "The Great Vacation U. S. Tour" en Californie. Le groupe a une nouvelle fois performer à The Fillmore, à San Francisco le 9 Septembre, et à The House of Blues le 11 et 12 Septembre. Le 21 Octobre 2009, le groupe sortit la seconde partie de leurs hits à travers la compilation THE GREAT VACATION VOL. 2 ~SUPER BEST OF GLAY~. Celle-ci regroupait majoritairement leurs chansons de 1994 aux années 2000 avec de nouveaux enregistrements comme "Acid Head", "Shutter Speeds no Theme" et "BURST". Le troisième disque est une nouvelle fois remplis d'inédites et de chansons jamais sortit sur un CD auparavant. A partir du 1er Avril 2010 jusqu'au 20 Avril, le groupe publia la musique "Apologize" en téléchargement gratuit à travers le site Chaku Uta. Le groupe a commenté ce geste par la manière de dire "merci" à leurs fans.
