But they have always been filled with hope and longing. He is a musical protagonist who doesn’t turn away from the dark parts of the soul and the universe. He doesn’t need to, for nothing can really threaten him. His hot heart warms everything he turns his attention to, be it people, harmonies or sounds. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Thierry Zaboitzeff is always open for change and development. Lulling repetitions of one and the same style, which some have used to establish highly successful brands, have never interested him. About d-zaKord d-zAkord is an electric band of guitars and basses, created and directed by the bassist and composer Erik Baron from 2000. The band explores the timbral possibilities of prepared strings, electronic processing and orchestral textures with roots rock and electric. Besides its own compositions, d-zAkord likes to feed its inspiration with the spirit of other composers. That's why it presented, among other things, its version of the the mythical 'in C' of Terry Ryley and the dreadful "De Futura" of Jannick Top. Multiple Distortions The term ‘Minimal Music’ was invented to categorize music which cannot otherwise be categorized, and has since become a new genre. In ‘Multiple Distortions’, Thierry Zaboitzeff once again sets off on an adventurous journey in search of the ‘Simplicity in Magnitude’. The result is not Minimal Music but opulence with emotion. ‘Multiple Distortions’ is a long composition for fifteen electric guitars and basses as well as percussion. A written score is used as a mutual base and the performance expresses subtlety and power. The piece, notwithstanding the large number of instruments, is not meant to be performed as a band concert, but rather as a group of single performers, and each musician uses his own amplifier. A public address system bolsters the sound only lightly and doesn’t dominate it, like a magic carpet spread underneath, upon which each musician remains an individual. Nevertheless, the audience can enjoy the full experience of a large orchestra. Harald Friedl
