F. T Island (Nom coréen : 에프티 아일랜드) ou F. T I est un groupe sud-coréen, formé sous le label "Fish and Cake Music", composé de cinq jeunes membres. Le nom du groupe veut dire l´île aux cinq trésors (Five Treasure Island). Mais depuis le départ de Oh Won Bin, les fans préfèrent les appeler "Forever Treasure Island", Five correspondant aux cinq membres du groupe et Treasure aux talents que possède chacun d'entre eux. Leurs chansons sont un habile mélange de pop et de rock. Le groupe a été initialement constitué de Lee Hong Gi, Choi Jong Hoon, Lee Jae Jin, Choi Min Hwan et Oh Won Bin, qui a quitté le groupe à l´aube de l´année 2009 pour cause de différence de style. Ils ont de même performé sur scène pour la première fois officiellement Live House Melon-AX, Gwangjang-dong à Séoul le 27 Mai 2007. Cependant, ils ne débutent musicalement qu'en juin 2007 sur le plateau de l'émission musicale coréenne M ! Countdown. "Cheerful Sensibility" est composé de 13 chansons divisées en 2 groupes : "Emotional Chapter" et "F. T. Island Chapter". Le premier groupe est du genre "Rock ballades", dont les chansons ont été composées par ceux qui ont travaillé avec de célèbres chanteurs tels que SG Wannabe... Alors que le deuxième est composé d´un mélange de Rock et Pop dont les chansons ont été composées par ceux qui ont composé pour le groupe japonais SMAP. Leur talent est reconnu internationalement lorsqu'ils remportent le prix du Meilleur Espoir lors de l'édition 2007 de l'Asian Song Festival. En décembre 2007, "Cheerful Sensibility" est réédité sous le titre "The Refreshment" et qui comporte 3 nouvelles chansons et qui a atteint 25, 724 copies vendues en décembre 2007. Ils ont également interprété "I Think I Saw Love" pour le drama "In Soon Is Pretty". •2008• Après leurs débuts coréens, un fan-meeting a eu lieu en Malaisie, et un concert a été prévu pour le lendemain. Cependant, ce concert a été annulé et ils se sont dirigés vers la Thaïlande pour leur premier concert le 12.04.2008 où ils ont chanté individuellement pour montrer leur talent. Comme de nombreux autres artistes, les garçons tentent leur chance pour le Japon et réalisent leur premier album japonais, "Prologue of F. T. Island" le 17.10.2008 avec le single "Soyogi". L´album comporte 8 chansons, dont 2 sont de nouvelles versions de "Primadonna" et "F. T. Island" et une "Always Be Mine" est la version anglaise de "First Kiss". Deux clips ont été réalisés pour "Soyogi" et "Friendship". Leur comeback coréen était pour le 27.08.2008 avec leur deuxième album "Colorful Sensibility" qui a été suivi par un second volet de même nom le 17.10.2008. Ils ont aussi participé à l´OST du drama "On Air" avec leur titre "One Word" et a l´Ost du film "Antique Bakery" avec "Love Is". Après, ils ont réalisé un autre single japonais intitulé "The One", grâce auquel ils ont atteint la 8ème place au charts sans aucune performance ! A la fin de l´année, ils ont tenu un concert d´adieu pour Oh Won Bin sous le nom de "So long, Au revoir". •2009• Oh Won Bin a quitté le groupe le 28.01.2009, et Song Seung Hyun en est devenu membre. Avec cette nouvelle forme, il réalisent leur clip "Bad woman" dans lequel apparait l`actrice Seo Hyo Rim. Ils l´ont chantée sur Inkigayo et deux jours plus tard, ils ont réalisé leur premier mini-album coréen "Jump Up". Le 22.04.2009 sort leur deuxième single japonais intitulé "I Believe Myself" dont une chanson "Moonlight Angel" a été coécrite par Lee Jae Jin et Co-composée par Choi Jong Hoon. Leur tournée "I believe myself" a été faite autour du Japon. Ils ont même prolongé la tournée en Singapore, Thaïlande, Taiwan, etc. Leur comeback coréen a été fait le 16.07.2009 avec leur 3ème album coréen "Cross & Change" dont la chanson titre est "I hope / Barae". Cet album est reconnu par son nouveau style "rétro" et "Bokgo". Le 21.10.2009, le groupe réalise leur 3ème single japonais "Raining". Dans ce single, le leader a joué au piano au lieu de la guitare, et le bassiste a co-chanté la chanson "Raining" avec Lee Hong Gi. Au retour en Corée, les membres Choi Jong Hoon, Lee Jae Jin et Choi Min Hwan ont formé le Trio F. T. Triple, initialement nommé "A3" parce que les 3 membres sont du même groupe sanguin A. Les raisons derrière la formation de ce sous-groupe sont principalement pour montrer les talents des autres membres (à part Lee Hong Gi) et pour les plus mettre en valeur et c´est aussi pour que le lead chanteur ne se fatigue plus (Gayo Daejun Incident). La 3ème raison est la participation de Lee Hong Gi au drama "You´re beautiful" ce qui a suspendu les activités du groupe. Dans F. T. Triple, Lee Jae Jin est le chanteur principal et il y est le guitariste, Jong Hoon est le pianiste alors que Min Hwan continue à être batteur. Leur premier single est intitulé "Love Letter" dont une chanson "Don´t You Know" est l´OST du drama "Master Of Study". Leur tournée nationale a été nommée "Men´s Story". •2010• Le groupe réalise leurs débuts officiels au Japon avec les 2 singles "Flower Rock" et "Brand New Days" sous le label Warner Music. Jong Hoon et Seung Hyun ont composé les titres "Music life" et "Treasure" successivement. Leur Comeback coréen avec "Beautiful Journey" le 27.08.2010 a reçu un énorme succès de la part des Primadonnas qui ont beau attendu le retour du groupe... Un autre single japonais est réalisé a Novembre 2010, dont les 3 chansons sont toutes écrites par Lee Jae Jin, et la chanson "Boom Boom Boom" est composée par Choi Jong Hoon. Alors, le groupe a tenu deux concerts au même temps, "Beautiful Journey" et "So Today". Ils ont été élus les premiers au Mnet Asian Music Award 2010, mais ils n´ont pas reçu le prix car ils étaient absents. Après leur "Christmas Concert" à Taiwan, F. T. Island a été considéré le groupe qui a gagné le plus d´argent pour l´année 2010 avec NT$20Million. •2011• Le 20 avril, F. T. Island sort son quatrième single japonais "SATISFACTION" dont Jong Hoon a participé à la composition de deux chansons I Want et Friends. Le single arrive en tête des Charts Oricon hebdomadaire à la 2ème place. Leur chanson-titre "Satisfaction" a également été choisie pour être le générique de fin de l'anime "Toriko". Le 18 mai, F. T. Island sortent leur premier album au Japon, intitulé "Five Treasure Island". L'album comprend des chansons de singles, Flower Rock, Brand New Days, So... today et Satisfaction, il contient également plusieurs nouvelles pistes, y compris l'OST pour le drama japonais "Muscle Girl", dans lequel Lee Hong Gi joue. F. T. Island établit un record dans le top ORICON album daily chart. Leur 1er album japonais est vendu à 20 410 exemplaires le premier jour, atteignant la 1ère position de l'Oricon. Le groupe a exprimé sa joie d'atteindre la 1ère position de l'Oricon : "C'est incroyable que nous ayons la 1e position. Nous allons travailler plus dur à l'avenir pour faire connaître la musique encore mieux. S'il vous plaît nous donner beaucoup d'amour et de soutien. " F. T. Island fait son come-back en Corée du Sud avec le mini-album RETURN. L'album a été diffusé le 24 mai avec comme chanson-titre Hello Hello. L'album contient cinq chansons, l'une étant I Confess que Choi Jong Hoon dit qu'il a écrite en pensant à leurs fans. Après être retournés quelques temps au Japon, ils sortent un autre mini-ablum coréen le 10 octobre, Memory in F. T. Island, composé de cinq chansons, dont Like The Birds comme chanson phare. De retour au Japon vers fin novembre, le groupe effectue la promotion de son nouveau single Distance. Les 23 et 24 décembre, ils tiennent un concert spécial Noël pour leur fans japonaises. •2012• L'année commence par deux victoires du groupe aux Golden Disk Awards et deux concerts, l'un à Singapour, l'autre en Malaisie. Début février, F. T Island fait son come-back en Corée avec un mini-album composé de ballades, nommé Grown-Up avec pour chanson-titre Severely. Evénements remarquables : Accident du Gayo Daejun : A cause de l'emploi du temps surchargé, Lee Hong Gi est tombé malade, mais il n´a pas voulu renoncer à la performance, ce qui en résulte qu´il a perdu sa voix. Il s´évanouit lors de cette performance et est directement conduit à l´hôpital. L´audience était insatisfaite de cet incident, et a rendu sa cause au manque de professionnalisme du chanteur, mais après avoir entendu sa maladie, ils ont totalement changé d´avis. Hong Gi lui-même s´est excusé pour cet incident. Départ de Oh Won Bin : Cette décision était trop soudaine, et le remplacement en était plus, ce qui a causé une formation d´un club anti-fan de Seung Hyun. Ce dernier a réussi enfin a recueillir l´admiration des Primadonna. Incident de Min Hwan : Le maknae s´est évanoui lors du shooting de son drama. Il était trop vite emporté à l´hôpital. Rien de sérieux, mais il semble qu`il était épuisé. Le typhon des Philippines : Lors du shooting du clip "Raining", le groupe a été bloqué à cause d´une grosse tempête... le label a perdu tout contact avec eux. Mais après quelques heures, ils ont pu les contacter pour savoir qu´ils sont tous sains et saufs. Collaboration de Won Bin avec Hong Gi : Oh Won Bin, ex-membre de F. T. Island a participé à l´OST du drama "You´re Beautiful" où Lee Hong Gi interprète le rôle de Jeremy. La chanson est intitulé "Down From The Sky" et elle est chantée avec le duo Miss $.
