Keyshia Cole - Trust (ft. Monica)
Trust en duo avec Monica [Musique de l'album "A Different Me"] *Keyshia Cole*, née le 15 octobre 1981 à Oakland (Californie), est l'une des meilleures représentantes d'un R&B sophistiqué aux Etats-Unis, mais en France, elle est plus connue grâce à sa chanson Love, où le chanteur et mannequin Tyrese fait son apparition, mais aussi grâce à son duo avec Sean Paul : Give It Up To Me ou celui avec P. Diddy : Last Night. Signée par le label A&M en 2004, cette prodige des vocalises de 21 ans a déjà fait ses preuves toute petite en chantant avec le rapper MC Hammer (à l'âge de 12 ans) puis en s'illustrant sur la bande originale du film Me & Mrs. Jones en 2001 (elle fait un duo avec l'ex Tony! Toni! Toné! D'Way Wiggins). Un duo avec la chanteuse Eve (« Never ») vient confirmer le bon choix du label début 2004. Ce début de carrière fulgurant constitue une échappatoire pour cet enfant des ghettos de la Baie de la Côte Ouest où elle a grandi parmi les gangs de la rue. Son premier album The Way It Is (juin 2005) fait la démonstration de son talent tant vocal que dans l'écriture des chansons calibrées par un Kanye West en grande forme (« I Changed My Mind »). Les plumes de John Legend et d'Alicia Keys sont également présentes sur cet opus qui atteint le n°2 des charts R&B et n°6 en Pop et se vend à un million d'exemplaires. Malgré la concurrence des Brandy, Monica et Beyoncé, Keyshia Cole réussit à tirer son épingle du jeu grâce à une voix de soprano fluide, volant littéralement sur des trames trop répétitives. Alors qu'elle prépare son deuxième album, P. Diddy l'invite sur Press Play (le titre « Last Night », 2006), et R. Kelly sur Double Up (« Best Friend », 2007). En septembre 2007 paraît Just Like You sur le label Geffen. Keyshia Cole bénéficie des collaborateurs de Mary J. Blige (star maison du label), soit Rodney Jerkins, Ron Fair et Bryan-Michael Cox. Entre similitudes et différenciation, elle réussit à imposer son style dans « Let it Go » , « I Remember », et « Heaven Sent ». L'album est n°1 R&B et n°2 des charts Pop. A Differnt Me, en décembre 2008, ouvre de nouvelles perspectives pour Keyshia Cole dans une tonalité plus douce voire jazzy (« Please Don't Stop »). Le 21 décembre 2010, Keyshia Cole sort "Calling All Hearts" qui s’écoulera a 289 990 copies vendu aux États-Unis.
