BEST RIADS MARRAKECH-BOUTIQUE RIAD DAR NAJAT

MARRAKECH RIADS BY DAR NAJAT COOLEST RIADS COLLECTION "BEST PLACE TO STAY IN MARRAKECH FOR COOL PEOPLE" took my mother and a friend to Marrakesh for a week' holiday . and Dar najat was great. It is close to the cultural attractions, and within walking distance 5mn to the place Jamma elfnaaa . Once inside all is tranquil ; I looked in all the rooms and can confirm that they all live up to the web-site photos - they're beautiful, I was lucky to have a room on the 1st floor but my Mum was equally pleased with her pretty and cosy room on the ground floor. Although there is a pretty courtyard , the main public area is the terrace, where we had generous breakfasts , lounged in the sun after a jaccuzi and enjoyed evening dinner . I would say that the gem of all at Dar najat is Olivier and his staff He is the most warm and helpful hotel proprietor I have ever met, he speaks perfect English, He will give all the info and tips you could possibly wish for. He made us feel exceptionally welcome He give very good restaurant recommendations azar a new lebanese resaurant beautiful, with great food ,great wine from lebanan châteaux Kefraya .Le comptoir darma fabulous mechoui .He arrange anything you have in mind.like a night in essaouira great italian food there . thank you all

Best guest house Marrakech-Riad Dar Najat

TOP RIAD IN MARRAKECH RIAD DAR NAJAT BY BLACK ZITOUN “An Incredible Experience at the Riad Dar Najat” While Marrakech, Morocco is already such a beautiful and culturally rich city, to have a Riad treat you as if you were there own only makes the experience that much more incredible. Upon arriving at the Riad Dar Najat via there own car service, we were greeted with smiles and enthusiasm by family and friends eager to provide us with the best time of our life. It was a long trip to Morocco, and all we could think about was how hungry we were when we arrived, without a clue of what we would be served (I was travelling with my 20 year old brother, I am 23---his review is below). To our surprise, it happened to be the best meal of my life, hands down. You can see my review of the Dar Najat Kitchen here: (http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g293734-d2460020-r125007371-Dar_Najat_s_Kitchen-Marrakech_Marrakech_Tensift_El_Haouz_Region.html) After having a great meal with all the courses to fill you up including wine and beer, we chatted it up with the Olivier and his workforce (basically his family). They were so eager to show us the time of our life, as they could tell we had never been to such a country. We were in AFRICA, and were ready to experience the joys of a foreign culture. As night came, we were brought to our room, which was very nice. It was comfortable, had all the amenities and was very well decorated thanks to some very talented local artists :) In the morning, yet again we were surprised to walk up to a beautiful breakfast with fresh bread, crepes/pancakes, pastries, omelettes, coffee and fresh orange juice. Yes we were satisfied. We decided to take the first couple of days to explore the city ourselves but then realized that we needed some guidance in deciding where to visit around the area. The Riad Dar Najat family had all of the information we needed. Not only did they bring us around Marrakech to see local products being made like Carpets and Rugs and Leather, we were also put in touch with another friend/driver of theirs that took us on a day trip to the Atlas Mountains, where we hiked and drank mint tea under a waterfall. It was complete serenity. I should have mentioned this prior, but mint tea is their staple welcoming offering, and it is quite delicious. You will be offered it everywhere, and please drink it, you wont regret it. The next day they took us on a day trip to their other Riad Bab Essaouira in the beach town of Essaouira. We got there on a beautiful day, ate fresh fish on the beach, and then visited the Riad to meet the artist of all of there wonderful artwork. We sat on the roof overlooking the ocean drinking mint tea. We also visited some local wood shops and made some great purchases to bring home to our friends and family. Let me add that we tried some other restaurants around the area, very prestigious restaurants with high prices....the food did not amount to anything that the Dar Najat's kitchen provided us. Le Marrakechi was the place we went, and the meat was dry, the portions small and the bill HIGH. So please don't hesitate to trust the food at Riad Dar Najat, it truly was the best meal. We requested the same meal on our final night, and it was as delicious as the first. You'll also find that the chef is a wonderful young lady just as eager to please us with her delicious recipes. Every employee was there for us whenever we needed them. It was such a great trip, and if we went back, we would surely stay with the Dar Najat family again. THANK YOU RIAD DAR NAJAT, FOR SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE

"RIAD MARRAKECH DAR NAJAT "LOVES OMAR FAROUK !

“Magical oasis in the heart of the medina” We stayed at Dar Najat for two nights after a short holiday in coastal Essaouira. There we had been staying in the excellent Riad Bab (see 5 star reviews), also owned by Olivier, but as the wind got a bit chilly, Olivier embraced our revised plan to arrive in Marrakech a day earlier. We were met at the bus station and driven the short distance around the city walls (with a wonderful introductory commentary from the driver!) and into the medina where Olivier's staff met us and took us by foot through the tiny streets to the riad. It is beautiful! We arrived in the dark so everything was lantern lit and the terrace was completely magical. We had such a good supper and, on reflection, should have enjoyed the excellent cooking of Dar Najat's Kitchen for both nights. Our bedroom was perfect: beautiful, spotless, comfortable, quiet and with gorgeous antique mirrors, lanterns and furniture. It felt palatial and yet completely accessible and friendly too. In the mornings, we had delicious and plentiful breakfasts of eggs, pastries and fresh fruit, and were shown the way to the main square and advised about safety (food and physical), where to shop, where to eat, what to see and why for a short stay it really was worth doing the most touristy of things and taking a kalesh ride around the Medina (it was -- we went and saw things we would never have seen on foot). The staff prepared a perfect last lunch for us on the terrace before arranging for and taking us to the airport-bound taxi. This was included in the price as was our arrival taxi and one of the meals. You couldn't ask for better service, fresher food or a warmer welcome. We will certainly return. Room Tip: There are seven rooms in the riad, some on the ground floor and others, ours included, on the first...

best restaurant marrakech 2012 "best daily tagine in Dar Najat's Kitchen"

“AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT DAR NAJAT'S KITCHEN!” The start of 2012 came with a pleasant surprise, a trip to Marrakech, Morocco with my younger brother Jeff, who you can find below. Upon arrival into this beautiful culturally rich city, we were brought to the Riad Dar Najat, which we found using this website after reading so many fine reviews. We were immediately surprised to find that not only was the decor of the riad young and hip and fun, but so were the employees. We were brought to the roof of the riad and sat in the sun looking over the buildings, while they made us the perfect mint tea to complement the already surreal relaxation we were feeling. Oliver and his staff had already made us feel at home within 30 or so minutes from the time we arrived. The first night we were told that we would be fed by them. and not knowing what to expect, we were brought the finest meal of the entire trip. It was a lemony spicy chicken tagine, with delicious perfectly spiced veggies, salad and fresh bread, and it was absolutely delicious. We actually ordered the same meal for our final night. They had already surprised us with their hospitality and delicious food, and to make things even more convenient, they knew of all the fun and exciting places to visit in the old city and the surrounding areas. After setting us up with their drivers, we were also able to take a day trip to the atlas mountains where we drank tea under waterfalls. And the next day they brought us to their other Riad in Essaouira, where we sat on the roof overlooking the water. It was an absolutely incredible trip. We finished the trip off in Barcelona and Madrid, but nothing could compare to the fun we had with the people at Riad Dar Najat. If we could have stayed longer we would, and another visit is absolutely necessary. THANK YOU RIAD DAR NAJAT!! You went above and beyond our expectations

    luxury riads marrakech

“FANTASTIC RIAD, FANTASTIC HOST, FANTASTIC TEAM.” My wife and I stayed at the Riad Najat in Marrakech for seven nights this month (October 2011) with a 2 night break in the middle when we stayed in Olivier's second riad located in Essaouira. My wife and I would recommend either of these two riads to anyone who is looking for a quality hotel with an exceptional level of personal service from every member of the staff (As with almost all riad's, "Riad Bab Essaouira" in particular, you need to be able/willing to climb a few stairs but Riad Najat Marrakech has rooms on the ground floor). The location is perfect, just far enough from the bustling Souk's, Medina and main square to be quiet but within an easy 5 minute walk. The building is old and full of character with long, narrow rooms, thick walls and large doors but beautifully updated. At this point perhaps I should say that I am over 65 years of age, but still working .My profession has required me to travel worldwide for the last 30 years, staying in many of the best hotels on every continent for periods of up to 300 nights a year, so I believe that I understand/appreciate the levels of service provided by the industry. Back to our experience of the Riad Najat. Starting with the booking via email, Olivier responded promptly (Typically within an hour) to any question, query or demand that I had, which gave me total confidence when I came to book and pay the deposit. This confidence was totally justified on our arrival mid-afternoon at Marrakech airport, where a driver, provided by the riad, was waiting to transfer us On arrival the staff were waiting at the door, we were shown to the terrace where we were warmly welcomed by Olivier who introduced us to everyone, and whilst enjoying the complimentary soft drinks (All soft drinks, dinner on day of arrival and airport pick up were free as a special offer when staying 4 nights or more) Olivier and team offered us advise about what to/where to eat and drink, local customs, dress codes, opening/closing times, places of interest, tipping and any other question that we had at the time (This was not our first visit to Morocco or Marrakech however his advise was invaluable). We were given a cell phone with pre-programmed numbers to call should we find ourselves loss in Marrakech, and if necessary one of the staff would rescue us (We never used it but it’s a great comfort to know that you can call someone in an emergency). When we were ready we were shown to our air conditioned room complete with firm comfortable bed, and on-suite WC/shower (Web site gives a great overview of all rooms). The complimentary evening meal was excellent, which we took on the top terrace with an appetitive and a bottle of Moroccan wine. In our opinion the breakfast was excellent, if anything, for us oldies it was too much, each time we finished one dish another arrived. Olivier had offered us any assistance we required in arranging trips, taxis or restaurant reservations; we took him up on both restaurant recommendations and day excursions. Note, I had observed that some comments implied that trips arranged by Riad Najat were overpriced; all I can say is that we felt that the arrangements made for us were excellent value for money and met all our needs. We requested a half day tourist visit of the Marrakech 'places of interest' and our driver (Abdul) could not have been better; he was extremely informative about the city and all the sights, stopping for visits to palaces, tombs, gardens and photographs with no rush or hassle The second trip (Same driver and vehicle 7 seat air conditioned luxury mini-bus) was to the Atlas Mountains including a visit to a Berber market on the way, visit to a Berber house and lunch in the cool of the mountains, this was probably our best day in Morocco. Again Abdul could not have been more helpful or informative. Our last trip was from Marrakech to Essaouira, return; again Abdul was our driver for the three hour journey yet again he stopped to show us interesting sights and went out of his way to inform us of cultural differences and traditions. Our view is that you get what you pay for. We were entirely happy with all Olivier's or his staff's organization or recommendations, one of Olivier's staff even walked us to a restaurant that we had decided to visit, but was difficult for us to locate. The longer we stayed at the Riad Najat the more we felt like we were part of a happy family with every member of the Najat team, each time we sat down on the terrace soft drinks and or coffee/tea were offered, no request was too difficult or tiresome for the guy's. Our discussions with other guests appeared to confirm that they felt exactly the same about Olivier and his team. As the owner, and to his credit, Olivier is an exceptional organizer, astute, charming and honest, his attention to detail is exceptional and in my opinion, has that rare ability within the hotel industry to listen to his clients. On one occasion our early breakfast ordered before a trip, was delayed. Abdul our driver discussed this with Olivier and it did not happen again and many apologies were offered. Olivier's good humor enormous knowledge of the city and ability to communicate was second to none. Without doubt one of the team that deserves special mention is Said, who did everything at Riad Najat from serving breakfast to painting lampshades. He accompanied us on our two day stay at Riad bab Essaouira. Said has a heart of gold and is one of the most likable and jovial characters that you could wish to meet. He continually exceeds all expectations with his desire to serve and help the clients of Riad Najat and Riad bab Essaouira. His happy personality is infectious, and when he is around everyone, no matter what nationality, is joyful. To sum up. It is our view that the OVERALL EXPERIENCE of Riad Najat Marrakech far exceeded our expectation. It easily exceeds the sum of each aspect of the stay i.e. 5/5 for room, 5/5 service, 5/5 food etc when you total the sum you are still left thinking, "but it was better than all of that". We have thought long and hard about what we would change if anything. Once or twice the music became too loud for us whilst we were on the terrace and we could not hear each other. Olivier and others said "feel free to turn the sound down" and there was a handset on one of the tables we could have used. Load music was never an issue at night. If you are thinking of going o Marrakech and staying in a riad, then we would unreservedly recommend the Riad Najat. WE CERTAINLY LOOK FORWARD TO RETURNING. All our sincere thanks to. Olivier Primary Host and the owner of Riad Najat Marrakech and Riad bab Essaouira. (Now we are privileged to consider him our friend) Said Host. A truly sincere fantastic guy Amin Host. Another exceptional guy always available, always willing to help and provide drinks food etc. Tarek Host. Much quieter but equally attentive and helpful. Souad Host. Great guy quiet like Tarek but certainly as attentive and helpful. Last but certainly not least, the largely unseen staff. These were: Olivier's wife and several ladies that cooked, served us and completed the housekeeping. Unfortunately we did not talk much with them but they carried out a fantastic job, unseen most of the time but their efforts were noted and greatly appreciated.

RIAD BAB ESSAOUIRA-BEST BOUTIQUE RIAD IN ESSAOUIRA loves gainsbourg- Comic Strip

“ASTONISHINGLY GOOD RIAD WITH A STUPENDOUS LEVEL OF PERSONAL SERVICE” My wife and I wanted a short break during our Marrakech holiday and decided to book a two night stay in Riad bab Essaouira. This turned out to be a fantastic decision and we wish that we had arranged more time in Essaouira. The riad is located in the middle of the old medina, some 5 min away from the beach, positioned in a quite side street; there was little noise in the daytime and absolutely none at night. We had booked the room at the top of the house which comprised of a large double bed, on-suite WC/shower, sitting area, and included a large flat screen TV, it also had its own small private terrace with a couple of sun lounges. There is an additional larger roof terrace with surrounding sofas. The riad contains four floors with rooms on levels 1, 2 and 4 with a kitchen and sitting/dining area on level 3 (There is also a kitchen on the ground floor). All rooms in the Riad bab Essaouira are superb, but for a family or small group requiring perhaps three rooms it would be a dream. We are certainly considering this option for our next visit. This house is typical of an old medina converted establishment, the building being tall and narrow, so you need to be able to climb a number of stairs to access your room, but the climb is worth it. The standard of cleanliness and the quality of the décor was first class and the level of service provided by the staff (Siad in particular) was outstanding, they just couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was served efficiently and excellent in quality and quantity. We constantly felt that it was a privilege to be a quest. The location of the riad is ideal for everything, from restaurants, bars, markets, beach, and the fishing port, although you must appreciate that it is within the city walls and so cars/trucks are excluded (Nearest car park is at the port, approximately 2-3 minutes walk). Essaouira (Old city only. I cannot comment on the new city development) is a charming venue with an extensive souk, large sandy beach and a fantastic old active fishing port. If you like seafood, as we do, it is heaven! The quality of the seafood is superb, taken straight from the boats as they arrive and served as you request it. If seafood is not your choice then there are plenty of restaurants serving every other type of food you can imagine. Bars are plentiful where you can sit drinking your soft drink or tea/coffee for as long as you wish without hassle. There are numerous sporting/leisure activities available, with windsurfing being the most popular. It is our view that if you are looking for a relaxing break in a fabulous riad with unbelievably good food and service then Riad bab Essaouira would be our recommendation. Room Tip: Top floor if you want most privacy, but you need to be prepared to climb a number of stairs.

ESSAOUIRA BEST BOUTIQUE RIAD_RIAD BAB ESSAOUIRA

A fantastic riad in the middle of the old medina of Essaouira. This riad has recently opened and it is very luxurious. The riad is decorated throughout with one-off African artwork, it is amazing. We had a double room which was very nice, it even had a flatscreen TV in it. All of the rooms are en-suite and even have their own lounge area. On the large roof terrace you have views of the Atlantic Ocean, there is a gentle breeze blowing which is really nice on a warm day. In the evening you get a magnificent view of the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean from the roof terrace. The riad is in a quiet area of the medina, it is a few minutes walk away from the main shopping area, the fish market and a five minute walk away from the main beach of Essaouira. The staff at the riad were very friendly, they all spoke good English and were happy to help us with everything that we needed, they were always smiling which made us feel good. www.riad-bab-essaouira.com 35 biss, bd my Abd errahmane Eddakhil Essaouira, Morrocco +212 524 785 508

    ESSAOUIRA RIAD_RIAD BAB ESSAOUIRA

“We loved this riad, we will be going back there....” We stayed at this riad for 3 nights, and wow what an experience is was. The location was great, it was in a quite street but still in the middle of the old medina of Essaouira. The riad itself was really nice, it is decorated all over with original African artwork. The riad was clean and kept to a high standard. The staff at this riad are very friendly, they were happy to assist us with whatever we needed. They were even happy to take us around the medina to help us get our bearings, a really nice touch. Our room was really nice, it had a flat screen TV fitted on the wall and its own bathroom. There was a really nice roof terrace at the riad which was great to chillout on in the evening and to watch the sun come down over the Atlantic Ocean, an experience not to be missed. The riad is close to everything is Essaouira, the cafes, the beach, the old fort. We will definitely go back and stay at this riad, it is great value for money.

"COOLEST RIADS COLLECTION" with riad dar najat&riad bab marrakeh in Marrakech and Riad Bab Essaouira in Essaouira love Serge Gainsbourg"pas long feu"

“Best holidays I got, u are the king in this riad, I recommend it, excellent team.” It is the second time I went to this Riad. before it was beautiful, but the owner of this Riad decided to make it better and better, he changed every thing and keeps its charm and respected Marrakesh habits. The team is very professional, you fill that you are at home. I went there with my family, and we discovered the peace when we were inside. The food is really excellent, they explain to me in details what they did, they showed me how to do, I hope I will have the same magic to get the same test! If u want to visit Marrakesh someone from the staff will go with you and u will discover the old city in details. This address will be mine in Marrakesh, I will certainly be back there.
