Il commence donc officiellement leur carrière le 14 mai 2006 par un concert où ils distribueront gratuitement un maxi single nommé "Garasu no Umi". Pendant trois mois, ils font appel à un batteur de session avant que Denka ne les rejoignent. Peu de temps après, une trilogie de singles est annoncée : "Byakuya Ni Moyuru Hana", "Byakuya ni Moyuru Hana ~Shi to Byoudou no Tsumi no Naka de~" et "Byakuya ni Moyuru Hana ~Nanji, Ware wa Zennou no Mono Nari~". A Shibuya, leur concert sera filmé pour en faire leur premier DVD live, "Embrace at Distraught". Preuve que le groupe ne manque pas d'ambition et compte vraiment percer dans le milieu de la musique. Ils ont également participé à la Japan Expo 2007. Ils jouèrent alors pour la première fois devant une foule aussi importante, ce qui les intimida au début, mais ils furent très vite à l'aise durant ce concert. Pour le plus grand bonheur des fans, ils effectuèrent des séances de dédicaces pendant cette convention. Dio est un groupe particulièrement à l'écoute du public et en sont très proches. En 2008, leur première tournée européenne est annoncée pour le mois de Février et de Mars. La majorité des concerts ont eu lieu en France, chose extrêmement rare pour un groupe nippon, souvent en concert à Paris uniquement. Cette tournée à été particulièrement réussie pour le groupe, offrant aux fans présents un petit avant goût de leur premier mini-album intitulé "Heaven's Call" et prévu pour le 27 février 2008. Peu de temps après, on apprend que leur prochain single, "CARRY DAWN", sortira le 6 août 2008 et contiendra 3 nouveaux titres, qui séduiront tous les fans, marquant un nouveau tournant dans l'évolution du groupe. Dans la foulée, on apprend alors que Dio reviendra en Europe en fin d'année pour une nouvelle tournée. Malheureusement, ils ne pourront faire qu'une seule date en France cette fois-ci : elle aura lieu au Trabendo de Paris, salle qu'ils rempliront entièrement en ayant vendu toutes les places disponibles. Ils effectueront aussi une séance de dédicaces le 17 novembre à Paris, limitée à 200 personnes. Leur premier full-album, "DICTATOR", d'abord prévu pour le 10 décembre et finalement reporté au 19 décembre 2008 sortira. Il contiendra une dizaines de titres : comprenant des nouveaux, mais aussi des anciens qui ont été ré-enregistrés afin de coller au mieux au "nouveau Dio", car il faut l'avouer : depuis leur début et en l'espace de 2 ans, le groupe a énormément évolué. Aprés l'annoncement du concert du 29 juillet au Takadanobaba Area, Erina a décidé de quitter le groupe. Une annonce qui déçoit beaucoup de fan mais avec un espoir qu'il revienne un jour. Dio décide donc de se mettre en pause le temps de retrouver un nouveau label et un nouveau guitariste, et ce après leur troisième tournée européenne qu'ils feront sans Erina. Erina fait maintenant parti du groupe VII Sense, de leur côté Dio ont prévu d'annoncer une importante nouvelle le 24 janvier. Nouvelle à présent annoncée : Dio se séparent et leur dernier concert se déroulera le 13 mars prochain. D'apres un article mise en ligne sur le myspace officiel du groupe Mikaru, Ivy, Denka remonteraient de nouveau sur scene le 6 aout prochain au SHIBUYA BOXX. Mikaru et Denka ont reformé un groupe, "Digras".
