We stayed in Dar Bab Marrakech for 4 nights and WOW! What a great stay!
We were looking for a Riad in the Medina that was a little more understated than your typical Morrocan Riad, something close to the sights, something small and intimate, and somthing that offered great service.
We found all of those at dar bad marrakech. Let's start with the Riad itself. Very new, only a few months old and still very fresh. We loved the design. Elegant yet understated. The indoor 'waterfall' lends an air of calm and serenity. The terrace is a great place for breakfast and afternoon reading. The living room was very comfortable as well with lots of reading materials for your lazy afternoons. Our bedroom was very comfortable and adequately sized. The bed was fantastic, a good night's sleep everytime. A/C was cool and water pressure was strong. They offered breakfast with our rate and we had a an assortment of breads, pastries, jams and jellies, fresh juice and Moroccan mint tea (try it.. it's delicious!). The Riad is 5 mn walking distance from Jemma El Fna, Dar Si Siad, Koutobia, and other sights. Even though it's within the Medina walls, it's located in a quiet corner and you'll hear very little pedestrian noise or traffic which we found to be a big plus seeing how chaotic certain parts of the Medina can be. Olivier our host and his team are as good as they come. Very accommodating and very helpful. They'll be happy to give you advice on what to do, where to go, places to dine and everything else in between. They'll sincerely go out of their way to be of assistance.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dar bab marrakech. We highly recommend it and found our stay to be flawless. Even if something did go wrong, we had a feeling that they would have done their absolute best to resolve it. There was a sincerity among them that made you feel right at home. We'll never forget it.

I love Marrakech! It is an amazing city and I love Dar Darma a secluded retreat set in the vibrant Medina www.dardarma.com ! I spent 4 days there and I really enjoyed my stay. I was in the Mirror Suite facing the traditional patio and this room was very comfortable. We had our breakfast on the terraces with a beautiful view over Marrakech roof. Defenitly my favorite riad in the city!

What can I say we were looking for many accommodations for our large group, so finally after being recommended by a friend we got in touch with Marrakech-Loisirs.com they provided us with a selection of all the best villas in Marrakech; from 2 bedroom to 22 bedrooms. We picked up a 6 bedroom villa in the palmaraie area. The villas were unbelievabily stylish, and set in a very plush area away from all the noise of the city unlike the riads.

When it got too hot we used to dive into the pool and at evening we used to set off for medina.

Would highly recommend if you're looking for a private villa.

We found a great little place to stay, Riad Bab Marrakesh. It's a newly-refurbished, traditional-type courtyard, and the views over the palm trees and palaces of Marrakesh, not to mention the Atlas mountains in the distance, are stunning.

The people there were super friendly, helping us with recommendations for restaurants, finding a hire car, and guiding us to the main square (jemnaa el fna) on the first day. This is a 5 minute walk away, and we were happy it was so short as we made lots of trips back and forth, to be stimulated and then relax!

I thoroughly recommend this riad for a romantic break, or for those looking for a base to get to know central Marrakesh.

I booked this riad Dar najat http://www.dar-najat.com after having read reviews here, and I was pleased to see that I agreed with all the positive opinions. We had wonderful mornings on the roof top terrace, no sounds apart from little birds, and occasional chit chat by other guests, and were served the lovely breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice, omelettes, bread, butter, marmelade, yoghurt, musli, cakes and good coffee. We stayed in lovely rooms, they were nicely decorated and quite adequate for our needs. We had dinner in the riad the first night, and you should be warned that the delicious menu includes far too much food, half of it would have been enough. The other nights we let Olivier the owner book different restaurants for us, and that worked out just fine. One day he arranged a driver to take us to the Atlas mountains. In the village of Siti Fatma we were met by a local guide who took us for a walk to a waterfall and a D-tour with wonderful panorama back to the village. Unfortunately I didn't notice the name of the guide, which I regret, because he was an excellent guide and a very nice person who really added to our experience of Morocco (also spoke splendid English).
One of the things mentioned by other reviewers is the position of the riad. We found it quite convenient in a back alley of busy Medina. You had the feeling of having ordinary people's every day life just around the corner, but at the riad is was complete peace and quiet. (I would not recommend to stay by a street with traffic.) After you had figured out the nearest way to the square(5mn walk) it was quite easy to walk back and forth, and you could as easily reach the new part of the city and Majorelle Gardens.Dar najat your are the best . http://www.coolest-riads-marrakech.co.uk

Just returned from 3 nights in Marrakesh staying at Dar Najat http://www.dar-najat.com. We were a group of 14 ladies so we rented the whole Riad, which was probably just as well as we were rather loud in the evenings!
We found the staff so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much effort. We had gone to a Cocktail bar one evening for drinks before going for dinner. When we left to meet with your minibuses that the hotel had arranged, we weren't actually sure where they were waiting for us. We phoned the hotel for help and one of the staff (Amine) came and found us and directed us to our taxi.
The breakfast on the terrace was lovely with fresh fruit salad, omelette, bread & jam, yoghurt, fresh orange juice etc.
In the evenings after coming back from our night out we would sit around the jaccuzi area with our respective drinks (gin, vodka, wine etc)and just had lots of fun. The staff brought us nuts and things with our drinks and kept coming back to fill up our ice bucket - he was very discreet but very attentive and helpful - I can only apologise for keeping Amine up until the very early hours of the morning as he didn't leave us until we had all gone to bed.
The hotel also organised our walking guide for us, who was exceptional and extremely patient - especially when 14 of us were trying to shop in the Souks.
So a big thanks from all the ladies to Olivier the owner and his staff for a fabulous stay. The Riad was a highlight of our weekend and I can honestly say that we will be back (maybe not all 14 of us together though!).
